It’s Fight Week For Windsor MMA Athlete Tj “The Truth” Laramie
We’re excited to bring you the latest update on our very own athlete, TJ “The Truth” Laramie, as he gears up for another electrifying night of MMA action at BTC Fight Promotions’ 22nd event in Burlington, Ontario, on Saturday, November 18.
With a lineup of 13 heart-pounding bouts (keep in mind the card can always change), this event promises an unforgettable showcase of combat sports talent, including the return of a few UFC veterans.
One such veteran is Jesse Ronson (25-12), who enters the cage on a thrilling 4-fight winning streak to face off against Robert Hale (14-7) in an intense 180lbs Catchweight Bout.
But the spotlight also falls on our very own TJ “The Truth” Laramie (13-5) from MTC Windsor.
He’s ready to throw down in a Featherweight Championship bout against the formidable Terry Lemaire (6-3).
Laramie’s last outing, at BTC 20 on June 17, was a testament to his mastery of the ground game.
He secured a convincing victory with a Rear Naked Choke in the first round against Neftaly Martínez Burgos.
This was no small feat, especially considering that this was Laramie’s first MMA bout in over a year at the time.
His secret to staying razor-sharp? Active participation in grappling and jiu-jitsu tournaments, which kept his ground game skills finely tuned.
Sitting with Tj we asked what his mindset was like going into his next MMA bout.
“In this fight game, honing my mental strength is key. I’ve put in the work—mind workouts, visualization tricks, and keeping that positive vibe. When I talk about not betting against myself, it’s like having a chat with my own reflection. Trusting my gut, embracing my strengths, and rolling with the punches – that’s the name of the game. Self-doubt? That’s the real opponent. I’m all about banking on my skills, training grind, and the heart I pour into this. It’s more than a mindset; it’s the soul of my fight game. Every round, every jab, it’s me saying, ‘I got this,’ and that makes me a force to reckon with.”
